Daredevil CEO's Fatal Flight
Daredevil CEO's Fatal Flight Puts Micron Technology Shareholders on Edge All it takes is a high-risk hobby, a CEO of a major company, and an unforeseen yet tragic accident to put shareholders at risk. The death of Micron Technology's CEO Steve Appleton, is raising fresh questions about what companies should insure and disclose to investors. Micron shares fell 6% after news of Appleton's death. While running a $7.85 billion enterprise, Appleton was also a well known stunt daredevil at air shows when he was not scuba diving, surfing, or racing cars. On February 3rd, Appleton tragically crashed while flying an experimental, self-assembled small plane. It's reported that Micron had not disclosed anything about Appleton's risky pass times and declined to comment on any "key man" insurance it may have had on him. |
