Ted Tafaro of Mahwah, NJ Named “Forty Under 40” Award Winner.

NOVEMBER 5, 2008, Mahwah, N.J. – Mahwah resident Ted Tafaro was recently named a winner of NJBIZ Magazine’s Forty Under 40 Award. The award recognizes forty of New Jersey’s most dynamic business leaders under the age of 40. The award focuses on leaders who are not only making headlines, but who are also clearly committed to professional and community growth.

Tafaro is the founder and CEO of Exceptional Risk Advisors, LLC in Mahwah, NJ. Since its inception, Exceptional Risk Advisors has aimed to provide the insurance industry’s most elite advisors with unique solutions for insuring their client’s largest human capital exposures. Seeing top advisors struggle with inflexible, overly complex traditional insurance products, Tafaro envisioned something different: an easy-to-access insurance boutique that would provide advisors insight and access to the expertise and high limits of the Lloyd’s market.

Prior to launching Exceptional Risk Advisors in 2006, Tafaro was President and Chief Operating Officer of The Hanleigh Companies. While managing most of the placement for entertainment industry’s largest human capital insurance exposures, Edward lead the organization to become the first US based Lloyd’s of London broker in Lloyd’s 350 year history (an honor shared with only one other advisor, simultaneously appointed).

In addition to Tafaro’s passion for success, Ted is also the Founder and President of The Tafaro Family Foundation. Under his leadership, in 2007 and 2008 The Tafaro Family Foundation sponsored seven inner city classrooms with “Trout in the Classroom,” a program designed by Trout Unlimited and delivered in partnership with the Children’s Aid Society to bring underprivileged kids incredible science and life lessons. The program culminates with the release of trout into wild waters.
